Fall is here...

We had a great weekend. I got some great pictures of the kids playing in all the leaves in our back yard. It is so fun to see them enjoy the simple things in life.

Monday already...WHAT!!

We have had a busy busy weekend. Friday I went to a concert in the cities with a friend of mine. I had a great time but it was a late night and an even earlier morning. Saturday we took the kids for Halloween pictures in their costumes. Check them out at www.quality1hrfoto.com under Pumpkin Patch Saturday. They are on page 8 and are the cow, kitty cat and teenage mutant ninja turtle. Then we went to a birthday party for a friend of ours. After the birthday party we had lunch and I went to knitting class. At knitting class I learned that all my hard work on my hat was wrong! :( I had to start over AGAIN! How frustrating! I think I have it right now. After knitting I came home and we got the kids ready so we could take Charlie to get his 5 month pictures. It was a long day for me. It felt like Friday and Saturday were the same day. Then we decided to start letting Charlie cry it out to sleep. We want him to learn to fall asleep on his own. Well it is awful to listen to him cry. Nick has to do it because I just can't do it. I would pick him up for sure and we wouldn't get very far at all. Saturday he was sleeping in 10 minutes so it wasn't awful. Sunday we got up early to get ready to take the kids to Playhouse Disney at the Xcel Energy Center. It was another busy day. The kids had a blast! I just can't get over how expensive everything was. We got up there and got the kids cotton candy for $10 because it came with a hard hat. Then they wanted light up wands. They were $20 each. How do you say no? We are so in trouble when we actually go to Disney World. We are going to need to take out a second mortgage on our house ;) We ended our day at my parents' house. My dad built a fire in the fire pit. We had hot dogs, chili and smores. It was perfect and the weather was great as well. The kids were all exhausted and so are Nick and I. I don't think we could've crammed one more thing into our weekend! I wish I had tomorrow off. Oh well...I guess I just need to count down until next weekend. I will post pictures, in the morning, from the weekend!

Tough Little Guy!!

Charlie will be 5 months old tomorrow. It is so hard to believe that he is 5 months already. The time is flying by. Today I took him to the doctor for his shots and a weight check. He weighs 13lbs 9oz. The doctor was happy with his weight gain. She said that he is still in the 10th percentile but they are happy to see a gain. I guess he is just going to be our little guy. He had to have two shots. Any parent knows that this is awful for the babies. The last time he screamed after the nurse pulled the needle out. As if he was saying.."why did you do that lady? It hurt really bad!" Today I put him on the table and he was chewing on his fingers. The nurse stuck him with the first shot and he looked at her and smiled. He didn't even move. Then she did the second shot and he did the same thing. He didn't even make a peep. I was so impressed. None of my kids have ever done that. They all have screamed bloody murder after shots. I guess Charlie is going to be our tough guy!!

STRESSED OUT!!

Who ever said that knitting was relaxing is on drugs....and good ones too!! I took a knitting class with my mother-in-law on Saturday. I thought it would be fun to learn how to knit. She is constantly knitting the kids the cutest hats, blankets, wash cloths and socks! I thought how hard can it be. She makes it look so easy. Well boy was I in for a treat. Saturday's class was fun but it always is easy in class when someone is helping you. I had a good start on my hat. We left class and I thought I would have the 10 rows knitted in no time. I even said to Mary.."what am I going to do when I have the 10 rows done tomorrow?" TOMORROW...what a joke! It is Tuesday and I have pulled my hat out at least 7 times. I have gotten really good at starting but then that is when it goes bad. I think the furthest I have gotten is 4 rows completed. I have had a lot of motrin for this constant tension headache that I have. If this is suppose to be relaxing then I think I need a few more bottles of wine!! Yesterday I pulled it out twice and decided to take a break. It is raining here today so I am hopeful that I will get a little further on my hat. I will post a picture of my finished project at the end of the month. The class is every Saturday for the month and by the last class I should have a finished hat. The rate I am going I won't even have a hat started ;)

Is it Friday yet?????

What a week we have been having. I am so glad that tomorrow is Friday but it would be better if today was ;) Emma has had quite the traumatic week. Yesterday she fell off of the playset. She didn't get hurt and I still don't understand how she didn't break anything. She fell from the top landing while trying to put buckets on it. I watched the whole thing. I couldn't run to her fast enough. I thought for sure we were going to the ER. I am thankful that we didn't. Well then she wakes up this morning complaining of an ear ache. By lunch time her eye was a big goobery mess! Nick takes her to the doctor tonight and she has a double ear infection and pink eye. Poor kid....she needed some motrin, antibiotics and some good cuddles with mom and dad!

Braeden has been busy with TaeKwonDo, Flag Football and learning new things. This afternoon him and I sat on the couch so he could learn to tie his shoe. I showed him 2 times and he was doing it by himself by the 3rd try. I guess he was paying attention all those other times I was showing him. He was so proud to do it but his proudest moment was showing his dad when he got home from work! Now if we can get the training wheels off this weekend he will be set. He is working so hard at riding his bike. We finally...FINALLY...got him to get on it and ride around the neighborhood. Now we can't even keep up with him. We are going to raise the training wheels up tomorrow night. Our hopes are he will not need the training wheels by Sunday. Cross your fingers and toes on that one!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!! Hopefully it goes by quickly ;)

Charlie's Growing Up.....

We have had a busy week! Our little Charlie sure is growing up this week. He grew out of his tub. He started cereal and he is now sitting in a high chair. The time just goes by way to quickly. He also has found out the joys of having a sister. Yesterday Emma decided to put bracelets on him while he was playing on the floor. I was just glad that I was able to take pictures of it! It was so cute. Emma sure loves her baby brother. She loves to make him smile. We get to listen to "Hiiiiii" all day long!

Charlie and his dad before bath time.

Charlie in his new tub seat.

Braeden took this picture of Charlie eating cereal.

Check out his pink bracelets.

Charlie in his new high chair...we got the space saver one! It is awesome and he can sit right up to the table.

I think he likes his new seat!
