House

WOW...we accomplished so much over the weekend it is just crazy! We painted everything we could including the cabinets that are being added to the kitchen. The ceilings are almost done too! We have amazing friends! Trevor stayed way too late Friday to work on our house. We really appreciate it and don't know how to ever repay him. It looks amazing! The painting really changed the house and is getting it ready for us to move in this weekend. I can't wait. Mike Krediet came today and installed the cabinets in the kitchen. YEAH...they look so great and I can't believe how much more space and storage I will have. The countertop guy came this morning and measured for the bar top. Of course it will be custom because that is how Nick and Amy run apparently. Oh well...we got a great deal on the other counters so it should be okay. The carpet gets installed Thursday and the dryer guy is coming Thursday to make sure my washer and dryer are working properly! New lights will be installed on Saturday. I am not sure when the counters will be in and installed but I am excited to just have everything picked out! Everything is coming together and I can't wait for it all to be done so we can enjoy our house. We are so excited and so appreciative of all our friends and family for the help they have given us to get us in our house!

This is a very VERY busy week for me and my dessert business. I am thrilled to be busy and have organized my time accordingly I THINK. I have 3 graduations, 2 birthdays and a wedding. Plus a few dinner parties, cookies and random orders as well. LOVE IT!! I am so excited that it is going so well. I love all the support my hubby, parents, sisters, in-laws have given me!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Fracture :(

My poor Braeden has a green stick fracture in his arm. When I picked him up from school yesterday he said he fell off the slide and hurt his wrist. He said he went to jump off but slipped and didn't want to land on his head so he stuck his arm out. He went to the nurse and they put ice on it. This happened earlier in the morning. He seemed to be favoring it but I thought it was sprained and he would be okay. My dad looked at it and said we should check it again in the morning. We wrapped it, gave him some motrin and he seemed okay. This morning he said it really hurt and he couldn't move his arm. Poor kid! I brought him in to the clinic. He was so worried he was going to need stitches. I told him you only get stitches if you are bleeding. He said.."PHEW...I was so worried about it mom!" Then when the doctor said he would need an x-ray Braeden again had some anxiety. He remembered the x-ray he had last summer (cat scan to check for appendicitis which involved a few things that were not pleasant). I said to him no worries it was very easy to x-ray his arm and it wouldn't hurt at all. They nurses were great and I was so amazed at how fast x-rays are now developed. It was ready in a few seconds and we were back upstairs for the doctor to take a look. Wow...I remember when I had x-rays and we would have to bring the films upstairs. I love digital! The doctor checked and it was a green stick fracture. He splint it and told us to follow up with an Orthopedist this week because he will probably need a cast. The Radiologist will read the x-rays and make sure the growth plate was not affected. Poor kid! He is not able to swim, bike, play basketball, baseball, golf or ride his bike! He got new golf clubs for his birthday and is signed up for lessons this summer. He is signed up for baseball this summer and has already been practicing. Their first scrimmage is Wednesday :(. He was also suppose to go to basketball camp the middle of June but now he can't go. I feel so bad for him!! He seems pretty bummed out as he should be.

House

This weekend will be spent working on our house to get it ready for us to move next weekend. We have amazing friends who have loaned their talents to help fix it up for us! I can't thank Trevor and Rochelle enough for what they have done for us. WOW...is all I can say for Trevor's hard work late into the night last night. The ceilings are done and sheet rock is taped, mudded and almost ready for paint. We love you guys and really REALLY appreciate everything. Nick and I got the first coat of paint in the basement. Braeden and Emma's bedroom is all done. I thought it would have more of a green tint to it but it looks very blue. Sorry Emma but we will hang pink in there! Today the second coat will go on in the basement. Then we have clean up to do...LOTS OF IT! We will be hauling crap out. I need to sand and paint cabinets. Tomorrow we will be able to paint the upstairs! I am so excited to see it finally coming together. Next week the cabinets can be put in the kitchen and the carpet goes in on Thursday. Then we just have to wait for countertops. Looks like they won't be in by move in date but I am coming to terms with that. It is okay and we can live without them for a little while. Everything else will be done so that will be the only thing left. It will definitely look like a brand new house when we are all done. I can't believe it actually! It is an amazing transformation.

Last Day of Preschool

Emma's last day of Preschool was on Wednesday. I can't believe the year has come to an end already! I also can't believe that she will be in Kindergarten next year. The time sure goes by way to fast lately. Her teachers were amazing and she had such a wonderful year. It is great to know she will see some of her friends at Franklin next fall. She was really excited to hear that.

Birthday Party

I think Braeden had a great day today. He loved breakfast with his Nana and Papa. Then he had a birthday party with some great friends at a hotel pool in town. It was perfect since it was raining and gross outside today. Tonight my mom made a great supper and we had french silk pie for dessert....one of his favorite desserts. I think everyone is exhausted! I know I am. May is always a busy month with two boys having birthdays. I made Braeden's treats for school tonight so I think I am done with birthday treats until December! Now on to teacher gifts ;)

Happy Birthday Braeden!

I can't believe Braeden is 8 today! Where does the time go? He is such an amazing boy. We love you so much Braeden and hope you have a great birthday today. His request for his birthday: breakfast at Perkins with Nana and Papa from the pool. Last year they took him out to get a new bike and afterward they went out to Perkins for breakfast. It left a lasting impression and he talks about it all the time. He just asked them if they would take him again. How sweet!! They are on their way now to Perkins. We are going to have a birthday party with his friends at a hotel pool today. We couldn't count on warm weather or a sunny day to be able to use my parents' pool so we opted for the hotel. At least we know the weather will be good and there will be no rain ;) Auntie Alli is going to come help entertain the boys, Emma and her friend Maddie. Braeden wasn't thrilled that Emma was coming but we invited a friend for her so she will leave the boys alone. Charlie will stay home and take a nap. Tonight we will have a small party with just us, Auntie Alli and Nana and Papa. He requested that I make cupcakes with Darth Vader on top. He didn't want the Darth Vader frosted on. He wants it all hand done and placed on the cupcakes. I think it is sweet that he knows exactly what he wants. That is what I will be making this evening. The should turn out great and he will have a fun treat to take to school tomorrow.

Check out my boy and how big he has gotten! This picture is from Elite Photography and was taken one month ago.

SLEEP....

UGH....that is all I can say right now. Braeden has been having trouble sleeping at night and it is really driving me and Nick crazy. He will fall asleep for a few hours and than wake up about midnight. He comes into our room and wakes us up to tell us he can't sleep. We tell him to go back to bed, relax and just lay there until he falls asleep. He will leave and then comes back in a minute later crying telling us he can't sleep and he is frustrated. Well chico we are frustrated too! This continues for an hour which results in yelling, crying and frustration from all. I don't know what to do anymore. I am exhausted! I am sick of being frustrated with him all the time. We have tried the melatonin trick like we did when he had night terrors. It isn't working! We are trying to convince him to lay in bed and just relax. We tell him that he needs to stay in bed because getting up is waking him up more. UGHH....FRUSTRATING! I even told him to read a book to relax some. Nick and I will just fall back asleep and have the door fly open and a hysterical child enter our room. Or we will be sleeping, hear the door open and not see anyone ( I am completely blind without my glasses in the dark) but awake to a face right in my face. It is freaky!! This too shall pass but I hope it passes soon. Any suggestions?

Boys Birthday Party and Emma's Recital

Friday night we had a birthday party for Braeden and Charlie. It was chaotic but fun! We invited some of our friends with their kids, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and Great Grandma Ruth. There were 15 kids here and they all played so well together. I had fun getting everything ready. I always try to do too much and added more to my plate than really needed to be. This is life and how I seem to do it all the time. I always say I will learn for next year but seem to not. I decided Friday morning that I was going to make cake pops to add to the table decor along with the 1/2 sheet cake I had made and frosted. I attempted Mickey Mouse pops and light sabers. Well the Mickey pops were really cute the light saber pops are a work in progress. We had a few laughs but the kids enjoyed them so that is all that mattered! Here are some pictures from the party courtesy of Rochelle! Thanks Rochelle for taking the pictures.

Saturday we had Emma's dance recital. She did a great job and looked so beautiful. I can't believe how much bigger she has gotten in just a year!

House Remodel

The house remodel really started today. We are taking out a few walls and half a wall in the kitchen. We will be adding new counters and more cabinets in the kitchen. We are also putting new carpet throughout the whole house! The carpet has been ordered and I am picking out countertops as I type. Here is my slide show of pictures so far. I am SO EXCITED!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE!

I can't believe my little boy is 3!! Where does the time go. He is growing up so fast. Tomorrow is his last day with his speech teacher :(. I am sad but so excited that we have come to this milestone on his 3rd birthday. He is talking all the time and has quite the vocabulary! He loves to play golf, basketball, ride his bike, pretend to be big like Braeden and just always has a smile on his face! What a happy boy he is. We love you Charlie and hope you enjoy your day!

We spent a few hours of Mother's Day at Urgent Care with him. He fell on the concrete floor at our house while Nick and I were measuring in the kitchen. Nick went down to find him with a huge goose egg. We went home and showed my dad who said we should just watch him. Well then we all agreed that he should get checked out. He was acting weird and would just lay on the floor and not get up. The doctor checked him and said he seemed fine so to just watch! It was a scare but we are so glad he is just fine. I of course took a few pictures of his major goose egg. It was so huge and pulsed...GROSS...I was ready to vomit!

1st Communion

I can't believe Braeden is old enough to have his 1st Communion!! What a great day it was today. He was nervous but did great. We didn't get too many smiles from him during church but he was smiling plenty after we got home.
