Y vs Home
Today was my first morning working out at the Y. I set everything out last night so I would be ready to go this morning. I got up 4:45am and headed out the door. Already I was dragging butt because when I would workout at home I didn't get my butt moving until 5:15am. I kept telling myself this isn't so bad...I can do this! When I got to the Y I parked, got out of my car and was like BURR this is why I workout at home. It was windy, sleeting and freezing outside. When you workout in your basement you don't have to worry about outside weather conditions. I got in and on a treadmill. I was lucky enough to stare at a wall my whole workout. No TV, no window, nothing to look at. Again...working out at home I was able to watch TV and watch whatever I wanted. I guess I had a lot of reflection time so that was good. All in all it was a great workout and I am just going to have to get use to the change. I can't justify spending the money on a new treadmill at the moment! I need to get my iPod loaded with fun music and then starring at a wall won't be so bad!

Statement of the Day
We have had a great Sunday. Well at least I have! We got up and out the door for church early today. We didn't have to yell much to get everyone going. It was amazing! Nick took Emma to preschool and I took Charlie to the nursery. There was another mom in the nursery but there wasn't anyone to run it. The mom was frantic because she had to be the lecture during church today. I said no big deal my husband or I will sit in the nursery and watch the kids. It was just Charlie and this little girl. The lady thanked me and went to mass. Nick came down to the nursery and I asked him if he would sit with the kids so Braeden and I could go to mass. He was fine with it but I don't think he was THRILLED with it. Braeden and I went over to the church and sat in the front. We were early and just listening to the organist. The singer was standing by the alter and Braeden said why won't he start the mass. I explained to him that the priest starts the mass and will let the singer know when to start. Braeden was getting impatient. He looked at me and said.."Mom I wish I had a pie!" I said why do you need a pie? "Because if I had a pie I would throw it at that guy's face since he won't start mass!" Nice...where do they come up with this stuff? Of course I told him that wasn't nice at all!
After mass Braeden and I went to get the rest of our family. When we got to the nursery Nick told me he had to watch 4 kids today. I told him that God was watching and I am sure all the parents appreciated him. It was part of our pay it forward for the day!
I was able to go shopping all by myself this afternoon. It was great to have some alone time away from the house. I really REALLY needed it! The weeks get long with 9 kids in my house and no alone time. I am preparing myself for my new workout. My treadmill broke on Friday. I have had it for 7 years so it was bound to break sometime. I use it every morning so I was pretty upset. Well we have a YMCA membership and instead of buying a new treadmill I will now be going to the Y at 5am to get my workout in. This is going to be a HUGE change for me but one I am going into with a very open mind.
Tonight we are having friends over to watch the Vikings game and have pizza. They have 4 kids so we are hopeful all the kids will keep each other busy!! GO VIKES!!

Ears and Speech
Charlie will be having his tubes put back in February 3rd. He had an ear infection about 2 weeks ago. At that point we found out that his right tube had fallen out. His pediatrician was concerned since Charlie already has a speech and developmental delay. We made an appointment with the ENT so that we could discuss our options with him. His ear doctor looked at him today and said there was quite a bit a fluid in the right ear and with his speech problems the tubes need to be put back in. This mom was not against it one bit. We have come a long way with Charlie's speech and I don't want him regressing. Charlie's teacher came on Wednesday and noticed a little change in him that made her concerned. It is amazing what one ear infection can do! The poor kid is listening to us and it must sound like we are talking under water. The doctor insisted that the tubes be put in before our trip to Disney World. He said that the flight would be miserable for Charlie with the fluid that is in his ear. Now Nick and I just have to make the decision between permanent tubes and temporary tubes. There is a risk that the permanent tubes could leave a hole in his ear drum that would have to be patched later. Braeden had the permanent tubes and didn't have a problem. We are leaning more towards the permanent but want to make sure we know all the options first. Charlie does risk having to have a 3rd surgery in 6 months when the tubes fall out again. If he has to have tubes a 3rd time the doctor would automatically put in the permanent tubes anyway. Sometimes these choices that seem so simple are really very difficult to make!!

EXCITED!!!
Tonight Nick and I are making the trek to Wichita to visit one of my best friends. I just can't wait to see her and her family. It has been 3 years since we have seen each other. We both have had a baby since our last visit. Our kids are staying with my parents for the whole weekend...THANK YOU MOM & DAD!! Everything is packed and ready to go. Nick and I are going to drive the whole 8 hours tonight after he gets off work. It will be the longest 8 hours ever.
On a different note Nick's mom, dad and grandma leave Friday for Arizona and will be gone for two months. I know they are going to have so much fun but we sure are going to miss them. The kids will miss their grandparent fix for sure. Two months is a long time when we see them at least every two weeks or so. It will be different but it is a much needed vacation for all 3 of them. I really hope they have a great time. Hopefully when they return they will bring the warm sunny temps with them as well.

Congratulations Bersaw Family!
We are so excited for our friends who had their baby today. They have two boys at home and were pregnant with their 3rd. They had a baby girl, Emily Nicole at 4:30pm today. She weighs 7lbs 3oz and is 22 inches long! I can't wait to go hold her!
Happy Belated New Year!
It has been crazy busy around here. I can't believe I haven't updated in so long. After Emma's birthday celebration at the MOA we got ready for New Year's. We have had a lot of parties and continue to constantly have a busy schedule. We had some friends over for New Year's Eve. They brought their boys over and our kids played. It was great to have some adult time. Alli also joined us! We ate, drank and played the Wii. It was our perfect New Year's Eve. The best part was my husband stayed awake this year ;)
On Saturday we had Emma's birthday party. It was so great to see everyone and have so many people to help celebrate Emma's birthday. She has had the never ending celebration this year. I hope she remembers it because I don't think I can repeat it next year!
It was nice to get back to a regular routine on Monday. The week has been eventful to say the least. School closed early one day and then started late the next. It is freezing cold here with 5 more inches of snow. We are done with the snow. Time to move to Hawaii!!
This weekend is another fun filled weekend. Tonight I will be going out with some girlfriends that also do daycare. I enjoy going out with them, having some wine and talking about our daily adventures with the kids. Tomorrow we are having another party..LAST ONE...for Nick's best friend Joe who finally graduated from college. Sunday my friend Misty and I will have a booth at the wedding show, showcasing our desserts! We are hopeful that we will sign up a lot of brides this year. Last year was very successful for us so we assume this year can only be better!
Hopefully I can get some rest Sunday night!
